On Tuesday 29 September 2026, OpenAI held DevDay at Fort Mason in San Francisco. The opening keynote, featuring Sam Altman, started at 10:00 a.m. Pacific and was livestreamed. OpenAI called it the biggest DevDay yet and said it included more than 20 major announcements.
The official recap presents 25 named products and capabilities. This page covers all 25. It does not add items to reach a round number of 20, and it leaves out keynote asides that were not their own announcements on that recap.
Dots
Dots are always-on agents OpenAI describes as a new way to work with AI: they get to know what matters to you and keep working on your behalf so some ongoing work leaves your plate.
They are for people on ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium in eligible markets. Enterprise, Edu, and Healthcare workspaces can try a beta when an admin turns it on; it is off by default.
GPT-6.1 Sol is a major upgrade to GPT-6 Sol, aimed at agentic coding, computer use, and professional work. OpenAI says it delivers near-Astra intelligence at one-fifth of Astra’s standard input and output token prices, so developers can run more complex workflows on the same budget.
It is for API developers and for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users.
Ultrafast is a premium speed tier for workloads where latency matters. OpenAI says it offers up to 8× faster token generation (300 tokens per second) in Codex and up to 6× in the API.
GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast is available in the API and in ChatGPT Work and Codex on Pro 500 and Enterprise plans. GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast was announced as coming soon.
Private Intelligence is for businesses that want to use frontier models with stronger assurances about how their data is handled. Zero Data Retention with Private Safety Processing lets automated safety reviews run without giving OpenAI personnel access to the underlying content.
A Private Inference preview, combining confidential computing with strict, verifiable controls, was announced for fall 2026. Organizations can contact OpenAI about it.
Codex can now run on a local computer, be steered remotely from a phone, or run in the cloud from any device. Reusable development environments help tasks start quickly and give a team a shared setup with approved settings and permissions.
It is for developers on Plus, Pro, Business, Healthcare, Education, and Enterprise.
The Codex command-line interface can start and steer tasks by voice. A new /agents view makes it easier to delegate work and watch several tasks at once.
Everyday workflows also changed: editing prompts, resuming sessions, and using worktrees, with a cleaner terminal layout for longer sessions. It is available on all plans.
Code Review in the ChatGPT desktop app is for reviewing changes across projects. You can read summaries, explore diffs, and ask Codex about potential issues before commenting on a GitHub pull request or a GitLab merge request.
Automatic reviews can take a first pass in the cloud while you are away. It is available on all plans.
Codex Security Cloud scans GitHub repositories for defenders who want to harden infrastructure. Scans can run on demand or on a schedule, and new commits are checked on an ongoing basis. Codex investigates findings, removes duplicates, and prepares fixes in the cloud, including while a laptop is closed.
It includes models offered through Daybreak Blue without a separate Daybreak application. It is for Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users on desktop and web.
The Decisions API is for real-time choices where the answer has to come from a fixed list. It focuses the Luna model on questions the developer defines, using text or images as context, and returns an answer that can classify content, route a request, or pick an agent’s next action.
It was in limited preview on DevDay, with a broader release planned in the following days. The recap did not link a separate product page for it.
Computer use on the Agents API lets developers build agents that operate software through its interface to finish a task. The same release brings Codex’s multi-agent setup, tool search, tool calling, and context compaction into an application, with OpenAI running the underlying infrastructure.
It is available through the API and in Codex and ChatGPT Work on Pro 500 and Enterprise.
OpenAI worked with Amazon so the core of the Agents API can run natively inside AWS and connect to AWS resources. Bedrock Managed Agents is for teams that want OpenAI-powered agents to run entirely in AWS rather than only through OpenAI’s own API.
Plugin extensions open the same kind of surface OpenAI uses to build ChatGPT features, so developers can ship their own experiences inside ChatGPT. A plugin can live in the sidebar, open an interactive panel beside the conversation, and provide a viewer for file types the product supports.
They are available on all plans, for developers building ChatGPT plugins and for the people who use those plugins.
OpenAI also changed how plugins are built and found. Plugin Creator helps you build the plugin, and a redesigned submission flow is meant to give clearer feedback. Ranking and recommendations surface relevant plugins in the directory and inside conversations.
People still choose which plugins to use and approve the access each one gets. This is available on all plans.
Sites you build in ChatGPT can now include supported plugins. Teammates in the same workspace use that app with their own connected data and permissions, and automations are easier to add so a Site can keep shared information current.
This is for Business, Enterprise, Healthcare, and Edu plans.
ChatGPT plugins can subscribe to the proposed MCP Events specification and start an automation when something happens in a connected app. OpenAI’s example is watching a project board: when a task arrives, ChatGPT can read the linked documents and draft a plan while you are away.
It is available on all plans, for people connecting apps to ChatGPT and for developers whose plugins should react to those events.
ChatGPT Space is a shared place for a team, ChatGPT, and a person’s dot to work from the same knowledge. ChatGPT can keep the space organized according to instructions you give it, so people can find work and continue it later.
It is on Pro, Business, and Enterprise in the desktop app and on the web. Mobile can find, read, and share pages; creating and editing on mobile was still coming.
Pages are a document type built for people and agents to work in the same file. On a page you can write, research, generate charts, create images, or visualize information, then invite teammates to add ideas and feedback.
You can start a page from a conversation. Pages are on Pro, Business, and Enterprise.
Collaborative slides, announced as arriving in the weeks after DevDay, let a team make interactive slides with ChatGPT from a conversation or from their own template. Several teammates and agents can edit the deck at the same time and leave comments.
You can present inside ChatGPT or export to PowerPoint or Google Slides with formatting kept. It is planned for Pro, Business, and Enterprise.
Teams in ChatGPT let colleagues share pages, slides, plugins, and spreadsheets. Team tasks take recurring work, such as a weekly project update, and use connected tools to gather information and act on a schedule or when something happens, for example a new email or Slack message.
Teammates can edit the instructions together as priorities change. This is for Business and Enterprise.
Mentioning @ChatGPT in a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel, thread, or direct message brings ChatGPT into the conversation the team is already having. It can use tools an admin connected, or a person’s own tools with that person’s permissions, and teammates can add context and refine the result in the same thread.
People in that conversation do not each need a ChatGPT license. It is for Business and Enterprise.
The Meetings plugin takes notes and saves a personalized summary with action items in ChatGPT Space. Notes can stay private or be shared, and you can then ask ChatGPT to update a project plan or draft a follow-up.
OpenAI says the audio is deleted once the notes are ready and cannot be accessed or replayed. It launched in beta in the ChatGPT desktop app on macOS for Pro and Business, with Enterprise coming soon.
A shareable profile collects the Sites and plugins someone has made so other people can find and reuse them from one page. Teammates can also discover shared skills, but skill sharing stays inside the workspace.
Profiles are on Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise.
Sign in with ChatGPT lets a ChatGPT plan travel to other products. Plan usage can be spent across 16 launch partners, including Cognition’s Devin, Notion, Vercel, T3, OpenClaw, and Dactyl, and you can cap how much each partner may use. Eligible usage counts toward the ChatGPT plan’s limits. The same account can also sign in to other tools, which is meant to connect plugins faster and cut down on passwords.
Identity is available globally. Spending plan usage inside partner tools is for Plus and Pro users in participating apps.
Pro 500 is a new ChatGPT Pro tier for people who want more usage and speed. OpenAI describes its allowance as 25 times the ChatGPT Plus allowance, and the plan includes Ultrafast.
It was available at announcement. The recap calls this “a new Pro tier.”
The OpenAI Marketplace lets eligible enterprise customers put part of an existing OpenAI commitment toward approved partner software. The first group of 32 partners named on the recap includes Figma for creative work; Adobe, Sierra, Decagon, HubSpot, Salesforce, and ServiceNow for customer experience; Harvey and Legora for legal; Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike for cybersecurity; and Baseten for open-source models.
Enterprise customers can express interest. It is a purchasing option, not a new model.
